The clinic was established by a team of professionals who are experienced and passionate about hair transplantation surgery and science. The team is led by plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Joseph Rizk, who has years of microsurgery experience. The clinic aims to provide leading techniques at affordable prices so that patients achieve their results and stay in Australia.

What the process looks like:

  • Initial consultation
  • Pre-procedure
  • Book your procedure
  • Post-procedure
  • Follow-up appointments (either face-to-face or via Zoom)

The duration of a hair transplant procedure depends upon many factors such as the number of grafts, the type of skin and baldness. However, a minimum of 4-6 hours is usually required for approximately 1000 grafts.

Here’s what you can expect to do after you’ve had your hair transplant procedure:

  • Antibiotics for 5 days
  • Slight restriction in exercises
  • Avoid bathing your head for 3 days
  • Avoid swimming for 15 days
  • Use a cap while going out to protect your scalp from the sun
  • Only button-up shirts for 3 days

Not every hair loss sufferer is a candidate for hair transplant surgery as hair loss can happen due to different reasons. A proper scalp analysis is required before undergoing a hair transplant, so please do book an appointment to proceed further.

Individual follicular units are extracted one at a time from the donor area. This is performed using micro-punches which are 0.80mm in diameter, either manually or by a motorised device. The punch incises the skin surface around every hair follicle before they're teased out manually with forceps.

We use a special implanting device which places the grafts at the desired recipient site, angle, direction, and depth. This occurs in a single shot, like a retractable pen - we do not make incision holes with needles or blades.

At HTCA, each follicular unit (FU) is extracted and implanted indivudally. After extraction, the FU’s are kept well hydrated, and temperature is maintained throughout the procedure. The survival rate of the transplanted hairs is above 80-90%.

If the follicular units are not taken care of during the procedure and if handled too much, the survival rate could be less than 50%.

Yes, women can have a hair transplant procedure. Our technique of micro-grafts and minimal scarring is ideal for female patients wanting hair transplantation surgery. We also perform PRP and LED on our female and male patients.

Hair Transplant Clinics Australia is located in our luxurious White Hill Clinic.

The address is 1/2-6 Bridge Road, Stanmore, NSW 2048.

It is not advisable to consume alcohol, tobacco, green tea or coffee for at least 2 days before the hair transplant procedure. Some medication like aspirin needs to be stopped 14 days beforehand if medically possible. This will be discussed during your consultation.

The hair follicles that are transplanted are genetically resistant against baldness so they will continue to grow over your lifetime.

Lotions or supplements will be recommended for your existing hairs. Transplanted hairs do not require any medications.

The entire procedure is done under local anaesthetic so you may feel a few fine needle pricks. Post procedure, you may experience some mild pain (headaches or heaviness) however you will be prescribed with painkillers.

In FUT, the surgeon removes a portion or strop (15 to 25cm) which extends from one ear to the other. It is then closed with sutures, leaving a linear scar on the back of the scalp. The team then sliver and cut the strip into grafts and are then implanted back on the scalp after making incisions with needles or blades.

In FUE methodology, the individual follicular units are extracted one at a time from the donor area. This is performed using micro-punches about 0.8mm in diameter, either manually or by a motorised device. The punch device incises the skin surface around every hair follicle before they are carefully teased out by hand using forceps.

There is no visible scar after complete healing which may take up to 15 days. In FUE, we use a punch size that is less than 1mm which should leave no visible scarring after healing. We will be able to show you pictures of the donor area after the procedure when you visit the clinic for a consultation.

Hair growth is a slow process. After the procedure, you can see growth of up to 4mm in 20 days. The transplanted hair grows for about 3 weeks followed by some shedding. Depending on the hair’s natural growing cycle, initial signs of growth can be seen from 3 to 4 months. The see full growth, you will need to wait at least 12 months following your procedure.

This really depends on you. You need to control your hair loss (not for the transplanted hair) but through medical treatment with some lotions and tablets. This will give you a sense of your hair’s stability and prevent further hair loss. You will be provided with more information about this during your consultation.

You will be able to go back to work the next day. However, there will be slight redness on the implanted area and you will be leaving our facility with a bandage on the back of your head after the procedure. This can be removed the next day after your procedure.
